It felt less like arriving and more like remembering, as if some older part of me had always known these hills, this wind, this shade of light. How could I have carried a place my entire life and never set foot on its soil? And yet, there I was. The day I reached the Highlands is one I’ll never forget. The mountains rose like ancient guardians, and tears rolled down my face at their sheer grace, how they towered and then drew me in, making me feel small in the gentlest way. How do you translate a feeling that doesn’t own a word? You don’t. You hold it and let it speak in silence ✨ Before I left home, I told my sister, “There’s something I’m meant to find in Scotland.” I felt that truth like a pulse. And can you guess what it was? It was me.
